A true story of courage, loyalty and a legacy that still protects service animals today.
Some stories stay with you forever.
Mine begins on a night I’ll never forget — the night Police Dog Finn stood between me and a knife, and changed both of our lives forever
Finn wasn’t “just a dog.”
He was my partner, my shadow, my friend… and the reason I’m still here today.
This book is his story — and ours. A story of bravery, battle, healing, and the fight that eventually became Finn’s Law.
If you’re new here, or you’ve followed Finn’s journey for years, this is something special you can hold in your hands.
Who Was Finn
Finn served for eight incredible years as a police dog — loyal, fearless, steady as a rock.
He protected vulnerable people, tracked suspects across fields and towns, and ran towards danger without hesitation.
On that terrible night, he took a knife meant for me.
He nearly didn’t survive. But Finn had the heart of a fighter. Step by step, day by day, he recovered.
When I discovered the law saw him as “property,” something inside me broke — and something else ignited.
So we fought. And with the help of thousands of supporters, Finn’s Law was passed to protect service animals across the UK.
Finn retired with his tail still wagging and passed peacefully in 2023, surrounded by love.
But his legacy? It’s still working today.
ABOUT THE BOOK
This book tells Finn’s story from the very beginning to the night he was stabbed, through the long fight for justice and the birth of Finn’s Law.
It’s honest.
It’s raw.
It’s full of the moments that shaped who we became — as handler and dog, as partners, as family.
Each copy is personally signed by me and stamped with Finn’s paw print, taken from his real paw.
A piece of him.
A piece of his legacy
